About

The Quran Asks is your gateway to the queries raised by the Qur’an. I remember as a kid asking questions was taboo, it always annoyed the elders and some cultures still discourage asking questions. However, when we ponder on the Qur’an we learn that the Qur’an asks questions and answers them and then asks even more questions.

The term “Qul” (قُلْ), meaning “Say”, is repeatedly used in the Qur’an as an instruction to Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم). It serves as a directive from Allah, commanding him to convey specific messages to the people. These verses often respond to inquiries posed by individuals, whether believers, skeptics, or opponents of Islam. Additionally, “Qul” is used to provide answers to questions raised within the Qur’an itself, addressing doubts, clarifying theological points, and guiding people toward the truth.

Throughout the Qur’an, we find thought-provoking questions such as:

  • “Did they not see?”
  • “Did you not consider?”
  • “Did you not know?”

These questions encourage reflection, critical thinking, and deeper understanding. They demonstrate that asking questions is not only encouraged but is a key part of learning and strengthening faith.
